It’s now permanent – Mark Kirkpatrick has been appointed the next President and CEO of Loyalist College.
The appointment is effective March 1 however Kirkpatrick has been Acting President since last summer.
Board of Governors Chair Pam Jolliffe says after an exhaustive search across Canada, the search committee believed Kirkpatrick, who has been with the college since 2005, was the most qualified candidate.
Jolliffe added that Kirkpatrick’s leadership helped steer Loyalist through the pandemic and they believe he will build on the school’s solid foundation while executing new and emerging strategies.
As Director of Information Technology, Kirkpatrick modernized the college’s IT department and implemented a campus-wide IT infrastructure.
He also held the role of Senior Director, Infrastructure, later becoming Senior Vice-President Corporate Services and CFO and was the architect behind the business case, financial model, and operational plan that realized Loyalist’s vision for a new campus in Port Hope.
Kirkpatrick called it an honour and a privilege to be appointed to the role calling Loyalist “a special and unique place where our core values of being caring, inclusive, engaging, creative, and accountable are exemplified by everyone at the College.”
