A sod-turning ceremony took place marking the construction of a new McDonald’s being built in Belleville.
The new restaurant is being built on the corner of Wallbridge-Loyalist Road and Bell Boulevard.
Bob Doyle, owner and operator of Doyle’s Foods McDonald’s, explains what makes the location appealing.
“The 401, I mean, that’s a given.” Doyle tells Quinte News.
“Also if you’re here any day during the week, from seven to seven, you’ll see huge amounts of traffic coming down Wallbridge-Loyalist. Also with the expansion of Bell Boulevard and someday hopefully we get into the big box stores. I believe that across the street into the Trenton area, I can see that expanding. So it’s a good place for McDonald’s to be at this point.”
Doyle gave an estimate on when construction could be completed.
“We’ve been kicked in the head a couple of times already because of the weather,” Doyle said.
“The guys are here and they’re working even today with the snow and everything. I would say we’re probably going to open sometime mid-May to the beginning of June. That’s the gut feel.”
