The Quinte Judo Club has presented their longstanding “Judoka of the Year” award.
It was awarded in memory of Belleville Sports Hall of Famer Jim Driscoll, who was a main staple of Judo Canada until his passing in 1984.
In a press release it was noted that 10-year-old Melody Cramer has been an asset to the club since starting a year and a half ago. She is an active competitor earning the rank of yellow belt. At a recent tournament Melody won three out of five matches for a silver medal!
Judoka of the Year is awarded to a student under the age of 16 who best exemplifies enthusiasm, discipline & perseverance.
