The Cleveland Monsters beat the Belleville senators 3 to 2, claiming a second home win in a row against the Senators.
Cole Cassels and Angus Crookshank scored for the Senators.
The Senators opened scoring in the first period, but the Monsters tied it up quickly and then took the lead for themselves with the first goal of second period. The Senators came back to tie the game again before the Monsters cinched a game winning third goal before the end of the second period. Neither team gave any ground in the third, and after a scoreless 20 minutes, the Monsters claimed victory.
Belleville Senators Interim Head Coach David Bell said his team was more motivated than the last game.
“The guys definitely cared. They’re a pretty disheartened group right now with the result, but they did have an effort there and their care level was there,” said Bell.
The Senators return home to CAA Arena to face the Syracuse Crunch on Wednesday night.
