Tweed council will be providing a letter of support to a waterfowl sanctuary coming to the Queensborough area.
Over 130 acres of land off Barry Road in Queensborough is set to be known as the Three Duckies Ranch.
Owners Greg Oosting and Patricia Sandercock asked the Municipality of Tweed for support in order to apply for federal designation.
Tweed Mayor Don DeGenova tells Quinte News they agreed to help provide that support.
“There’s no commitment on us to provide any type of insurance or any type of funding,” DeGenova tells Quinte News.
“We thought this would be great and great for the the community. So we have agreed that I will write a letter in support of that on behalf of Council.”
DeGenova says the site will also provide a study area for students to come and visit the Queensborough area.
