A resolution has been found to bring back power boat races on Stoco Lake in June.
In January, Tweed council received a complaint of the noise levels coming from the power boats and asked the group running the races to make changes.
Toronto Outboard Racing Club then presented a resolution to address the concerns to council Thursday morning.
Tweed Mayor Don DeGenova tells Quinte News that council has given the go ahead for the races to return.
“We talked about different things and we came to an agreement,” DeGenova tells Quinte News.
“It’s gonna go ahead on the original weekend that they have proposed, which I believe starts on Friday June 9 and runs on the 10th and the 11th. So it’s a go and we’re going to be doing it.”
DeGenova says the presentation, as well as letters from residents in support of the event, ultimately guided council’s decision.
