The Madison Excavating U11 Quinte Red Devils earn points in thirteen straight games.
The Madison Excavating U11 Quinte Red Devils travelled to Peterborough on Saturday, to face-off against the Petes. The Devils dominated the game from start to finish, beginning in the first period, when Coulter Watson pounced on his own rebound to give QRD a 1-0 lead. The second period saw more of the same, when Dylan Chalk ripped one top shelf with just over two minutes remaining in the period. QRD took their 2-0 lead into the third, where some impressive teamwork led to two more goals. Four and a half minutes in, Blake Milne would find the back of the net, bumping QRD’s lead to three. About five minutes later, Kade Whelan tipped a shot in from the point, ending the game in a 4-0 victory for QRD. In net, Ben Larmer made some stellar saves, and earned his third shutout of the season.
On Sunday, the Madison Excavating U11 Quinte Red Devils proved their skill and determination when they hosted the York-Simcoe Express. QRD’s, Kade Whelan, opened the scoring one minute and seven seconds into the first period, when he stripped the puck off an Express defenceman, drove to the net, and then tucked a backhander through the five-hole of the tender. The Express answered the goal about three minutes later with a marker of their own. QRD responded quickly, with Dylan Chalk scoring the team’s second goal. QRD then extended their lead to two, approximately six minutes into the second, when Blake Sills lit the lamp. Over the next seven minutes, York-Simcoe would score three unanswered goals to take the 4-3 lead. With QRD down by a goal going into the third, tensions were high. QRD continued their cohesive play in the third period, and Everett Brown scored the team’s fourth goal, tying the game at four. Between the pipes, Ben Larmer played an excellent game, helping to secure the tie.
Sunday also marked the team’s Sponsor Appreciation Day, where the team’s sponsors were invited for some post-game refreshments, autograph signing, and photos with the players. The Madison Excavating U11 Quinte Red Devils would like to sincerely thank everyone who has graciously sponsored their team this year.

The Gillespies Tree service U13s Come Up with a Character Comeback Win!
The Gillespies Tree service U13s were back in action this Saturday squaring off against the Oshawa Generals. The Red Devils couldn’t seem to muster up any offence in Quinte’s 3-1 loss with a lone goal coming from Andrew Laurin with the assist from Trent Clow.
The Quinte Red Devils closed out the weekend facing off against a familiar foe in the Whitby Wildcats. The game was exciting right from puck drop to the sound of the buzzer. Whitby opened the scoring to make it 1-0 early on but Quinte showed resilience right from the get go, answering with a goal of their own, scored by Andrew Laurin (Trent Clow, Mauve Aird), This seemed to be a recurring pattern throughout the game with Whitby taking the lead and Quinte answering right back. Late in the first with The Red Devils trailing 2-1, Lauchlan Whelan would find the back of the net to knot the game at two at the end of the first, assists
from Liam Marion and Mauve Aird. The Wildcats would come out of the break with two quick goals of their own to make it 4-2 but Quinte would cut the lead to one heading into the second intermission, goal scored by Lauchlan Whelan (Jax’s Martin, Liam Marion). The Red Devils would get an inspiring pep talk heading into the third and final period, Whitby would increase their lead to 6-3 with under 5 minutes to go, this looked like it would be the dagger for the Devils but that would be the opposite. Quinte rallied back to score 3 unanswered goals in under 4 minutes. Goals would be supplied by Coen Lowry, Ewan Dahle and Andrew Laurin (Lauchlan Whelan, Joey Seguin, Trent Clow, Mauve Aird). The Quinte Red Devils look to take this momentum into the final four games of the season and into the playoffs.
