The County is conducting emergency leak detection work in the Carrying Place Drinking Water System on Wednesday, February 8 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The areas of work include Old Portage Road, County Road 64, County Road 3, Michael’s Way, Taft Road, Hanthorn Street and the Loyalist Parkway.
Operators will conduct valve turning and monitoring activities in the distribution system and on isolated service connections. These activities will assist operators in identifying the underground leaks from the drinking water distribution system.
Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area of flushing and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of work.
This work is not expected to impact water quality; however, residents in the affected areas may experience an interruption to service, intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of the work.
If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete.
