The Trenton Golden Hawks scored early and often as they blew out the North York Rangers 9-1 in Toronto.
Austin D’Orazio, Mitch Lafay and Matt Cato scored twice for Trenton.
Cato has 28 goals and 54 points in 40 games this season.
Ryan Holmes and Adam O’Mara had a goal and two assists each. Jack Natyshak chipped in with three assists.
The Golden Hawks extend their winning streak to five games while moving one point behind fourth place Cobourg in the OJHL’s South-East Conference. The Cougars have three games in hand.
Trenton is at Wellington Friday night.
Pirates and Jet win
In Junior C hockey The Amherstview Jets took a 5-0 lead then settled on a 5-3 win over the Frankford Huskies.
Jacob Tinney scored two for Frankford giving him 34 for the season.
The Huskies were playing their third game in 48 hours.
Nolan Stevenson and Eric Russell scored two for the Jets.
In Campbellford, Landon McLellan and Liam Philip gave Picton a 2-0 first period lead and that was more than enough as the Pirates shut out the Campbellford Rebels 3-0.
Ethan Beattie stopped 25 shots for his first shutout.
