February has brought the coldest temperatures of this winter so far but it was certainly a warmer January for the Quinte region compared to years past.
According to data taken at CFB Trenton, the average high for January was just above the freezing mark with the average low hitting around minus 7 degrees Celsius.
The historical averages for the month are minus 2 for the high and minus 12 for the low.
The warmest day last month was 5.4 degrees on January 5 and the coldest night was on the 30th when the temperature dropped to minus 15.
We did receive a little more precipitation than usual.
Last month 47 cm of snow fell on the region, just above the 45 cm average.
Just over 38 mm of rain fell compared to the January average of 34 mm.
