A man from north of Kaladar will spend two years in a federal penitentiary after being found guilty of sexual interference involving a young person.
Joseph Jack Theriault faced several sex-related charges following a police search of a residence in Cloyne in September of 2019.
The Belleville Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Branch, Forensic Identification Services, and Technological Crimes Unit conducted the investigation.
Theriault was 72 years old at the time of his arrest.
As well as two years in jail he was sentenced to three years probation, was handed a non-communication order, and cannot be near areas where people under the age of 16 are present. He was also registered in the sex offender database.
