There’s more opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in Prince Edward County this winter.
The county has purchased two outdoor rink kits with funding from the federal government.
The rinks are being set up at Rossmore Park (779 County Road 28) and Consecon Park (25 Porter Street) and should be ready for use in the coming days. Updates will be posted on County social media pages.
Recreation and Community Facilities is leading the initiative with support for flooding and maintenance to be provided by Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue and volunteers.
The rinks will be available for use from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and rink maintenance will be conducted each day. Shovels will be available for light maintenance by users.
Users of the outdoor rinks must follow these rules:
Skates are required on the ice surface
No food or beverages on the ice surface
No bullying or negative behaviour
No smoking or vaping
No consumption of alcohol
No littering
Helmets and gloves are strongly recommended
The outdoor rinks are available for all to use and should be used at your own risk.
The County asks all users to be respectful and considerate of the space and other users.
