Prince Edward County Council will begin capital budget presentations on February 1.
Capital budgets are planned spending for reconstruction or major improvements to infrastructure such as roads and bridges, as well as acquiring major equipment, technology or studies that guide long-term planning.
Prince Edward County Council is considering a tax-supported capital budget of $87.4 million.
That is a significant increase from the $18.5 million capital spending plan for 2022.
The proposed rate-supported capital budget for water and wastewater services is $25.1 million.
That is a drop from the $56.1 million approved for 2022.
Council is expected to hear presentations over three days.
The County’s proposed operating budget will be released by February 16. Council will review that budget February 22-24.
