The crippling winter storm over the Christmas weekend hit everyone hard but especially those people working at hospitals.
And nowhere did the storm hit more ferociously than in Prince Edward County.
Tuesday, Quinte Health’s Board of Directors recognized the team, including kitchen staff, cleaners, and medical staff, who went above and beyond the call of duty at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital during the storm.
Some nurses and other staff worked 30 or more hours straight as scheduled staff were unable to make it in to work.
The board honoured the team for its display of “incredible commitment to patients, each other, and to Quinte Health’s values.”
