Members of the OPP and the Ministry of Transportation teamed together to conduct joint vehicle investigations on Friday in Prince Edward County.
Eight vehicles were scheduled for inspection and three more were stopped and directed to the inspection location.
Some serious safety concerns were spotted including rusted frames, non-functioning seat belts, missing/modified mufflers and braking systems that were not operating.
One person was charged with driving while under suspension and others were charged with operating unsafe vehicles.
Four drivers did not show up for inspection. They run the risk of being charged and having their licence plates removed by the MTO.
It was stated that the OPP and MTO are going to be continuing these inspections throughout 2023.
