With Josh Norris out for season-ending surgery, Belleville Senators forward Ridley Greig could soon make his NHL debut.
The Sens called up Greig after announcing Norris will have shoulder surgery and miss the remainder of the season.
Norris had been out since October and had only returned for three games before getting hurt again in Saturday’s loss to Winnipeg.
Greig, a native of Lethbridge, Alberta, has 12 goals and 23 points in 28 games for the B-Sens this season.
The 20-year-old who has yet to play an NHL game, practised with the team on Monday.
Ottawa’s next game is Wednesday when they host the New York Islanders.
The Belleville Senators are also in action Wednesday, taking on the Rocket in Laval.
