Hastings County is one of several municipalities across the province launching a campaign to increase support for Ontario’s child care and early years sector.
Warden Bob Mullin says the child care and early years sector plays a vital role within our communities as it enables more parents to participate in the workforce and develops future generations. He adds, “Early Childhood Educators are unsung heroes, and it is critical to recognize and celebrate their impact within Hastings County and across the province.”
Calling it more than an awareness campaign, Hastings County’s Director of Community & Human Services department Connor Dorey says they’ll also focus on efforts to further strengthen and expand the sector.
Dorey notes without educators, programs cannot operate and Registered Early Childhood Educators should be recognized, valued, and fairly compensated for the important role they play in the lives of children, families, and communities at large.
Throughout the campaign, Hastings County will provide key information and insights regarding the child care and early years sector.
