(Jacob Vreugdenhil scores his 20th of the season in the Dukes win over Cobourg)
The Wellington Dukes padded their hold on third place in the OJHL’s South-East Conference and now have second place in their sites.
The Dukes scored 3 goals in the second period and that was the difference as they defeated the Cougars 6-3 in Cobourg.
Ryan Smith scored a goal with two assists. Jacob Vreugdenhil added his 20th of the season and Ethan Morrow stopped 28 shots.
Also scoring was Jacob Deitz, Corbin Roach, Lucas LaPalm and Matheson Mason.
Wellington moves 3 points ahead of Cobourg and sit 3 points behind second place Haliburton.
The Dukes are in Caldeon on Thursday then host Cobourg for a re-match Friday at Lehigh Arena.
