Applications for Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Hastings latest project open later this week.
Two homeowners will ultimately be chosen for Habitat’s Duplex project at 639 Sidney Street, Belleville.
Habitat will open the application process Thursday, January 19 with a special kick-off at 2 p.m. at the ReStore on Bell Blvd.
Meant to act as a ‘hand up, not a hand out’ for hardworking families, the homeownership program involves a rigorous application process that reviews an applicant family’s financial health, as well as their need for a new home, on a project-by-project basis. Habitat staff and volunteer representatives go to great lengths to ensure that the right family is chosen for the right home.
Habitat for Humanity’s homeowner program is Down payment for their homes comes by way of the 500 Volunteer Hours that families must complete before their mortgage is assigned.
