A traffic complaint in Marmora and Lake led to the arrest of two teens from Quebec.
Saturday around noon, Central Hastings OPP officers received a complaint about two vehicles being driven erratically on Highway 7.
One of the drivers was allegedly involved in a single vehicle collision and was spotted fleeing the scene with the second driver.
Investigation led to the identification and arrest of both drivers.
A 16-year-old from LaSalle, Quebec is charged with:
· Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose – two counts
· Fail to comply with Release Order- three counts
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
· Dangerous Operation
· Failure to Stop after Accident
· Flight from Peace Officer
· Person under 19 Possess Cannabis
· Driver Motor Vehicle No Licence
The accused was held for a hearing in Belleville on Monday.
The second 16-year-old from St. Laurent, Quebec is charged with:
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – two counts
· Dangerous Operation
· Flight from Peace Officer
· Failure to Stop after Accident
· Driver Motor Vehicle No Licence
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Belleville court on February 8, 2023.
