The Cleveland Monsters slipped past the Belleville Senators 2-1, ending the Senators’ three-game winning streak at CAA Arena on Friday Night.
Scott Sabourin scored for the Senators.
Neither team managed to score in the first period, and the Monsters grabbed the first goal after five minutes in the second. Sabourin evened out the score in the third period, but the Monsters claimed a second goal to take the lead again and win the game.
Belleville Senators Head Coach Troy Mann said that he thought his team played well.
“I thought we were fighting the puck at times. The level of compete was there, and we did some good things overall, but there were times when we just looked a little bit off,” said Mann.
The Senators play again on Saturday night at the CAA Arena against the Manitoba Moose. The puck drops at 7:05.
