Lennox and Addington OPP say one person has been charged following an incident Sunday evening in the Greater Napanee area near the shores of Hay Bay.
OPP, along with the Tactics and Rescue Unit and Canine Unit responded to a home around 8:30 after receiving a report that someone may be injured.
After a short time, officers were able to make contact with the victim and confirm their well-being.
While initial scanner and Twitter reports suggested a woman may have been shot by a man, police say no one was injured.
As a result of an investigation, OPP charged a 69-year-old Napanee man with two counts each of assault and assault with a weapon, sexual assault and pointing a firearm.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
