The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of bullet holes in the structure of a retail business in Bancroft.
On January 8, 2023, Bancroft OPP assisted by Belleville Forensic Identification Services (FIS) attended the business on Hastings Street North to investigate damage to the building and surrounding area.
The building and a few cars in the parking lot had sustained damage.
Investigators believe the incident may have occurred on January 8, 2023 shortly after 1:00 a.m..
The OPP has not received any reports of injuries.

OPP are investigating a possible shooting incident Sunday night south of Deseronto near the shores of Hay Bay.
Police in numbers, including the OPP’s Emergency Response team, staked out a residence on Concession Road 3 near South Shore Road around 8 o’clock.
The Napanee Fire Department and paramedics also responded after reports a woman had been shot by a man.
After a couple of hours the woman believed to be the victim walked out of the house while a man remained inside.
It’s not known at this time if there were injuries or if anyone was arrested.
