The Toronto Patriots defeated the Wellington Dukes 2-1 in double overtime on Friday.
David Campbell scored for the Dukes.
The Patriots opened scoring in the first period, and held their lead until the Dukes came back in the second to tie the score. Neither team could make any headway despite their best efforts before the end of the third period, and the game went to overtime.
Neither team could eke out an advantage in first overtime, and the game ticked over to second overtime, where the Patriots were finally able to grab a second goal and win the game.
