A woman is facing several charges after allegedly fleeing from police in Belleville Wednesday evening.
Around 7:30 p.m., Belleville police received a call about a possible impaired driver on Sidney St.
Officers attempted to pull over a vehicle near the intersection of Sidney St. and Bridge St. West however the driver failed to stop and continued west on Bridge St. with police in pursuit.
The driver eventually pulled into a nearby apartment complex and stopped.
Police say investigation determined the driver to be impaired by alcohol.
A 43-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with:
• Disobey stop sign – Fail to stop
• Fail to stop when requested to do so by a police officer
• Driving with open container of liquor
• Operation while impaired
• Failure or refusal to comply with breath demand
• Dangerous operation of a conveyance
• Flight from a peace officer
• Three Counts of Operation while prohibited
The accused was held for a show cause hearing.
