Affordability and availability are the two priorities for Bay of Quinte Member of Parliament Ryan Williams.
Quinte News continues to preview 2023.
Williams says a roof over people’s heads is a major concern in the Quinte region.
“Home building and making sure that we look after decreasing the cost of having a home, which means more supply. All the governments, all the elections municipally, provincially with Todd Smith, everyone one of them have talked about the need for affordable housing.”
He says when you cannot afford a place to stay, other priorities in your life get put on the back burner.
“Housing to me is going to be the biggest thing that I continue to work on. Helping the region set targets for population growth. Making sure we get skilled trades and workers to build more homes and looking after those who need the most help, those that are using the food bank, mental heath and addictions.”
He says supporting the fight to get more health care workers in the region will be critical for all levels of government.
CFB Trenton and military investment and a thriving business sector were also highlighted by Williams.
