2023 is just a few hours old, however, the focus has already started on the year ahead for the Prince Edward County Chamber of Commerce.
Executive Director Leslie Lavender spoke to Quinte News about the year ahead.
She says there are two issues that are above the rest.
“We’re working on the staffing issue and the housing issue in Prince Edward County. That is really a high demand for our businesses. We need work force to be able to serve the influx of visitors that we do have and to make sure we are properly serving our residents as well.”
She says the shortage in the housing supply is not unique to Prince Edward County, it is a provincial and country concern.
“That everybody has a place to live and can access the services that they need. So supporting our businesses to be able to adequately supply that and be successful themselves, which is quite challenging. It would definitely be on our docket from an advocacy standpoint.”
