While areas like Prince Edward County have been digging out from the Christmas storm all week, Belleville fared quite well.
Mayor Neil Ellis commends public works staff who worked through the holiday.
Their work enabled the city to send a crew and equipment to help Prince Edward County, which received significantly more snow.
Ellis says the storm should not affect the city’s snow budget.
“We have a snow budget and you know it’s done to the year end and I think there was plenty in that snow budget left so hopefully we don’t get hit between now and New Year’s,” Ellis tells Quinte News.
Rain is in the forecast leading up to New Year’s Eve.
