Plow operators still have work to do but life is just about back to normal in the region after the weekend’s unusually long and powerful wind and snowstorm.
Prince Edward County was the hardest hit part of the region and main roads have been cleared as have most side roads, but there’s always the risk of blowing snow and drifting in some parts of the county.
Hydro One has the power back everywhere except two areas in southern Prince Edward.
One is at Salmon Point near the Sandbanks and the other is on Waupoos Island. Both outages involve fewer than 20 customers. People at Salmon Point should have the lights back on by tonight but Hydro One says it could be this Tuesday before power is returned to Waupoos Island.
