Several local communities are kicking off 2023 with New Year’s levees.
It is the first time they’ve been held in most communities since the pandemic began.
Mayor Neil Ellis and Belleville City Council invite residents to a free, family-friendly event New Year’s Day at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the gymnasium, there will be refreshments, balloon art and face painting for the kids and a program of council members welcoming in the new year.

Brighton Mayor Brian Ostrander and members of council are hosting their New Year’s Levee on January 1, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Owen Gibb Community Hall at the King Edward Park Community Centre.
The mayor will make remarks at 3 p.m.
There will be light refreshments.

Prince Edward County’s New Year’s Levee will be held at the Rotary Club of Picton Hall at the Prince Edward Community Centre on Sunday January 8.
Mayor Steve Ferguson and County Council will be in attendance for the event which runs from 1:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m.

The City of Quinte West is also planning a New Year’s Levee for January 15.
