“We had that wind storm and less than four weeks later we had the tornado. That’s still devastating, I’m still hoping something can be done to help some of our residents.”

“We don’t have the equipment or the manpower, the resources to get rid of these huge trees. We did have a four- almost five-hour tour with the ministry people for assessing property. We haven’t heard anything yet.”
She did comment on one of the big victories from the past year. Albert says their waste water expansion of the lagoon was a tremendous development for the economic future of the municipality.
“We needed that expansion so we could further develop in the Village of Tweed. That to me was our highlight. Also another ten-year project was finally getting the application for our own gravel pit on Esker Road.”
It was Albert’s last year as mayor. She was first elected to Tweed council in 2003. Don Degenova was elected as mayor after Albert announced she was stepping down.
