It’s day four of the recovery effort from the big storm that hit this part of the province. Locally Hydro One has made a lot of progress getting the power back on and only about 130 homes and businesses in Prince Edward County remain without electricity Tuesday morning.
There are seven small isolated outages in the county, around East Lake, Bloomfield, Melville, Waupoos, Cressy, and Rosehall. It’s expected most of those outages will be repaired by Tuesday afternoon.
As of Tuesday morning 11,000 Hydro One customers remain without power across the province.
Prince Edward County plows have also made a lot of progress on side roads and plowing is expected to continue through the day.
However Highway 62, a provincially maintained road, has been reduced to one lane from the Norris Whitney Bridge at Belleville south to County Road 33 in Bloomfield due to blowing and drifting snow.
Also snow squalls overnight and possibly this morning near the lake could make travel dangerous.
Flurries, bringing up to five centimetres of snow are expected through the day.
