Many people in the Quinte region will experience what many will say is the worst Christmas in their lifetime.
A big winter storm that will persist through Christmas Eve and into Christmas Day has caused a multitude of power outages
in the Quinte region and Hydro One crews, though working as best they can, are in a tough situation against a storm that just won’t quit.
A lot of roads remained impassable late Saturday afternoon.
Outages are scattered throughout the region but the hardest hit area is Prince Edward County, with over 2,000 homes and businesses without
electricity, and as of 4:30 p.m. Saturday it’s estimated many won’t see power returned until late Sunday, Christmas day.
The same can be said for some outages around Brighton, Quinte West, and Napanee. Police again stress that people should stay put and not try to drive
until conditions improve.

Meanwhile urban Belleville south of the 401 continued to be free of outages.
