A driver has been arrested after they were alleged to have fled from police at a RIDE program.
On Friday, around 11 p.m, Prince Edward County OPP were conducting the RIDE program at Loyalist Parkway and County Road 64 in Carrying Place.
It’s alleged that a driver of a vehicle failed to stop for police and nearly struck officers.
The next day, around 8:30 a.m., officers located the vehicle on Highway 62 and once again attempted to stop it but it did not stop.
Officers later located the vehicle at a home and arrested the driver.
Eighteen-year-old Javaughn DaSilva from Trenton was charged with two counts of flight from police and two counts of dangerous operation.
The accused was released from custody on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on January 25, 2023.
