Just in time for Christmas, there is some always welcome infrastructure funding from the Ontario government for local communities.
Bay of Quinte riding MPP and cabinet minister Todd Smith announced a total over $16.4 million to be shared by four municipalities Thursday.
Belleville will receive $7.6 million, Quinte West almost $6.5 million, Prince Edward County can expect over $2.7 million and Hastings County is receiving $100,000.
The money can be used for upgrades and maintenance to local infrastructure such as roads, bridges and water-sewer systems.
