In local Junior A hockey, the Trenton Golden Hawks beat the Haliburton Huskies 5 to 3.
Zev Podolski, Adam OMarra, Austion DOrazio, Jaden Raad, and Ryan Holmes all scored for the Golden Hawks.
The Golden Hawks launched into a powerful first period, claiming three unanswered goals to swiftly secure an early and commanding lead over the Huskies. While neither team scored at all during the second period, the Huskies claimed three of their own goals in an attempt to catch the high-flying Golden Hawks during the third period. Their comeback would be stopped, however, by the Golden Hawks claiming two more goals to ensure they never let go of the lead.
Meanwhile the Toronto Junior Canadiens smashed the Wellington Dukes 5-2.
Connor Hunt and Jacob Vreugdenhill scored for the Dukes.
The game began with an action-packed first period, with the Junior Canadiens claiming their first goal in less than two minutes, starting a chain of goals from both teams. Over the first period the Junior Canadiens claimed three goals while the Dukes nabbed two on power plays. Things settled in the second period before the Canadiens came back in the third period to claim two more goals and claim victory.
