A Belleville man has been charged following an intimate partner assault.
Belleville police received a call to 110 North Front Street regarding an intoxicated male.
After locating the male, Belleville police charged him with public intoxication.
According to police, a record check also indicated that the man was wanted for failing to attend for fingerprints.
Police then attended the man’s home to check on the female resident, who told police that she was assaulted.
The woman was taken to Belleville General Hospital to be assessed for a possible concussion.
A 37-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault bodily harm, breach of probation, fail to comply with an undertaking and mischief.
He was held for a show cause hearing on Thursday.
