The union representing roughly 55,000 Ontario education workers will announce today (Monday) the results of a ratification vote on a tentative deal it struck with the province.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees is expected to unveil the vote results during a news conference scheduled for 10 a.m.
Although the contract offers a one dollar an hour raise each year, Belleville’s Laura Walton, the president of CUPE’s Ontario School Boards Council of Unions, has expressed reservations about the deal because it doesn’t include new staffing level guarantees.
