The Utica Comets defeated the Belleville Senators 7-3 at CAA Arena on Saturday Night.
Rourke Chartier, Angus Crookshank, and Egor Sokolov scored for the Senators.
The Comets got off to an explosive early start, with four goals in the first period. The Senators managed to come back and claim one, making the score 4-1 at the end of the first period.
The Senators claimed two more goals over the second period as they tried to claw their way back into the game, but the Comets claimed another goal of their own and held the lead into the third period.
The Comets claimed two more points in the third and locked down the victory.
Senators head coach Troy Mann said he thought the team started the game strong.
“I loved our start. We came out, and all four lines were buzzing. We had a number of looks. Daws was making some early saves to keep them in the game. You get a penalty, and they are able to capitalize at the end of the PK. All of a sudden, the tide turns pretty quickly,” said Mann.
The Senators start a road trip Sunday afternoon in Toronto against the Marlies.
