The founder of the national charitable organization Gift from the Heart is hoping Belleville council will have the heart to lend it a helping hand and a little financial help.
Gift from the Heart has 250 locations in Canada where at least once a year Registered Dental Hygienists offer free dental care to people who can’t afford it.
The organization’s local founder Bev Woods is asking council for $10,000 for maintenance costs for a Mobile Dental Outreach Suite and a location to plug the vehicle in when it’s providing free dental care in Belleville.
Council took no action except to ask for a staff report on possible locations for the mobile dental unit.
