The Community Development Council of Quinte’s Annual Diaper Drive for the Good Baby Box Program is back.
The drive will be held Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the CDC headquarters at 65 Station Street.
Good Baby Box Program Coordinator Bev Heuving says their goal is to fill a dump truck with 20,000 diapers that will provide a weekly supply to 1,000 families.
Heuving says the need for the program has increased substantially during the pandemic – especially the rural depot locations where there are transportation barriers and possibly even higher costs for essential baby items.
In 2021, the program distributed close to 7,700 Good Baby Boxes in 12 depot locations throughout Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.
Monetary donations are also welcome, as it allows CDC-Q the opportunity to buy large quantities of supplies when on sale.
