Quinte Health and the North Hastings Fund Development Committee has announced plans to bring a CT scanner to North Hastings Hospital.
The two organizations say they are working with Ontario’s Ministry of Health to “advance planning and design to accommodate a CT scanner.”
This would lead to the purchase and installation of the scanner at North Hastings Hospital.
The purchase would be made through the North Hastings Fund Development Committee’s “Back the Cat” campaign.
According to a release, Quinte Health says that, currently, all North Hastings Hospital patients who need a CT scan are transferred to other hospitals, mainly Belleville General Hospital.
Quinte Health says this could usually take about an hour and a half to get to the hospital.
