The Belleville Youth Swim Team was in the Big Smoke this past weekend taking part in the first competition of the season, held at the Toronto Pan-Am Sports Centre.
Fifty-five swimmers participated, with 24 swimmers getting personal bests.
Francis Brennan broke three team records, the 50-metre and 200-metre backstroke, and the 100-metre freestyle.
He placed first in both backstroke races and is currently ranked second in Canada in the 200-metre backstroke and third in the 50-metre backstroke, among 14-year-old males.
Emily Hudacin broke the 11-12 team record in the 50-metre breaststroke with a time of 38.86 and collected first place in the event. She also won the 100-metre and 200-metre breaststroke events.
Austin Williams broke his own 13-14 team record in the 100-metre breaststroke, lowering his time to 1:12.57.
Other first place finishers included Alyssa Barnes in the 50-metre butterfly, Alivia King for the 200-metre freestyle, 100-metre backstroke and 100-metre individual medley, Caden Mecky in the 100-metre and 200-metre backstroke and Abbi Solomon for the 50-metre breaststroke.
