Cell phone bills were very much on Bay of Quinte riding MP Ryan Williams’ mind Tuesday.
In the House of Commons Williams said Canadian cell phone service is the costliest in the world.
Among 128 cell service providers in 48 countries Canada’s big three telecommunications companies, Rogers, Telus, and Bell, rank first, second and third as the highest priced with Canadians paying three times the price Australians do and almost twice as much as Americans.
“Canadians are out of money. The answer is simple. Cut excessive spending, stop taxing Canadians more, and create competition to lower the costliest cell phone bills on the planet.”
Williams said Canadians need relief from high bills with the cost of gas and groceries going up along with inflation.
