Quinte West OPP have charged a driver with multiple offences after a traffic stop in Trenton.
OPP stopped a vehicle on North Murray St. in Trenton around 10:30 p.m on Monday for a Highway Traffic Act violation.
An investigation by police determined that the driver was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.
After the accused was arrested, a search of the vehicle followed leading to a quantity of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine to be seized.
Thirty-six-year-old Michael Kuhn of Quinte West was charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 19.
The accused’s vehicle was also impounded for 45 days.
