The Belleville Senators have acquired forward Brennan Saulnier from the Laval Rocket in exchange for future considerations.
The 28-year-old has appeared in two games with the Trois-Rivieres Lions of the ECHL, tallying an assist during that stretch.
He split last season between the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms and the ECHL’s Reading Royals.
With the Phantoms, Saulnier tallied three goals and three assists in 43 games played. With the Royals, he had four goals and four assists in eight games.
In a release, Belleville Senators general manager Ryan Bowness called Saulnier “a tough and energetic character player, who will be able to help out on special teams and add some overall depth to our forward group”.
Head Coach Troy Mann said Saulnier “is going to help the bottom of our lineup as a physical player, who’s not afraid to mix it up and skates very well, which will help our penalty kill”.
Saulnier is expected to be in the lineup for Wednesday night’s game against the Cleveland Monsters.
