Several people were granted civic recognition awards at Tuesday’s Prince Edward County council meeting.
The first to receive their award from Mayor Ferguson was Barry Davidson, who received an award for his part in upgrading the millennium trail.
The second award was granted to Judy Kent, a local resident who was recently inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame for her efforts in creating sporting opportunities for women, indigenous and disabled athletes. Kent was unable to attend, so councillor Bill Roberts accepted the award on her behalf.
The final award was granted to two people, Adam Engel and Christopher Moore, in recognition of their efforts to save three drowning people at Sand Dunes Beach on the 12th of July. While Moore was unable to attend, Engel accepted the award for both of them.
