Hastings County is sticking with its land ambulance response time standards for another year.
A report to county council on Thursday indicated a review of current performance had been undertaken and no changes were recommended.
The report showed that in the case of a “sudden cardiac arrest” a defibrillator was on the scene, 35% of the time, within six minutes.
All figures in the report were mid-year of 2022.
The committee received the following staff report on the issue:
Land ambulance delivery agents are required to set response time standards for their municipality each year and communicate them to the Ministry of Health by October 31 each year.
Council has input into and approves the response time standards for Paramedic Services for the coming year.
These response times are impacted by such factors as call volumes, deployment plans, offload delays and staffing needs.
A review of current performance has been conducted and no changes to the upcoming 2023 Response Time Plan are recommended.
