The Belleville Senators lost a second home game in a row to the Springfield Thunderbirds on Saturday night.
Springfield scored first, late in the first period, but the Senators picked up a goal soon after to tie the game.
Springfield scored twice to take and hold the lead in the second period, and despite the Senators outshooting the Thunderbirds 14-0 in the final period, they were unable to retake the lead.
Senators Head Coach Troy Mann said that he liked how the team played in the third period, but not the second.
“I felt that we played better tonight, but I didn’t like the second period. I felt like that was the turning point,” said Mann.
The Senators will be back in action on Wednesday night, beginning a three-game road trip by facing off against the Laval Rocket.
