The Springfield Thunderbirds defeated the Belleville Senators 5-2 in front of 1500 fans at CAA Arena.
Lassi Thomson and Cole Reinhardt scored for the Senators.
Springfield scored first almost halfway through the first period, and held their lead into the early second period before Belleville got on the board with a goal during a power play.
Springfield maintained their lead going into the third period with a score of 3-2, before scoring twice more to close out the game.
The Belleville Senators face off against the Thunderbirds again on Saturday night.
